Rejuvenate Your Smile With Dental Bonding

Everyone wants to have a movie star smile. Unfortunately, due to genetics, age, dietary and lifestyle choices, dental imperfections can impact the aesthetics of anyone’s smile, even with excellent oral hygiene habits. Fortunately, you don’t have to be rich and famous to achieve a naturally beautiful smile. At Dentistry on Monroe, Dr. Turner and our trusted team are proud to offer dental bonding that can quickly and easily restore the appearance of your teeth. Here’s what you should know about how dental bonding could benefit you before scheduling your next appointment.

What is Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding is a thin layer of composite resin that is applied to the surface of a damaged tooth to restore its natural appearance. It is a quick, painless, affordable cosmetic dental procedure that can usually be accomplished in as little as one visit to the dentist. Dental bonding can be used to resolve numerous oral health issues, but is most commonly used to improve teeth that are:

  • Chipped or cracked
  • Gapped
  • Misshapen
  • Too short

What is the Dental Bonding Process?

At Dentistry on Monroe, Dr. Turner will begin your dental bonding procedure by selecting the appropriate color of resin to match the natural appearance of your surrounding teeth. Then, he will roughen up the surface of the tooth that will receive the composite resin and cover it with a light layer of conditioning liquid. After the tooth has been prepared, Dr. Turner will place the resin on the tooth and form it into the desired shape. Next, he will use a special light to harden the resin. Since anesthesia won’t be needed, you can return to your normal activities immediately after the procedure is over.

How Should I Care for My Dental Bonding?

Caring for your teeth after they have been bonded is as simple and convenient as caring for your natural teeth. Of course, practicing good oral hygiene habits is the best way to keep your dental bonding looking and functioning great for years to come. This includes:
